Yeah, I know I have used that one before, I think..... so lets see what else can we come up with for Monday....
Madd
Moody
Magnificent
Mischievous
Macho
Money
Mooselicious
Marockin
Hmmm..... Okay, I guess we'll go with magnificent this time :)
Yesterday was great. I decided to throw our schedule out the window, and instead created a lot more detailed assignment sheets for each of the kids. That way they could decide what they wanted to work on, yet still have the ability to see what they need to do. So it was fun for them to get those choices, and they could go at whatever pace they wanted to. This was a big plus for the big kids, as they didn't have to wait for me to finish up things with the younger ones before they moved on. Some got done pretty early and had free time, others worked until lunch and a few had just a little to do after lunch. We did spelling together after lunch and also our Konos fun stuff about the Music and Sound experiments unit that we are working on. I felt mush more relaxed about it, not feeling like I was holding anyone back, or pushing anyone ahead either. And it let me work with a few at a time on Math, because the most I got working on Math at one time was 4 and it was all the younger ones.
Six has been an adventure so far, but I am enjoying it and will keep it up :)

I am so glad you had a magnificent day!! Today was our biggest breakthrough, we got to try out one of our new subjects (Rod and Staff English). We are still expecting Reading from Rod and Staff in the mail but this gives us time to get the hang of each new subject before we add another. We feel pretty confident with our Math now and History and Science are great. I am devoting one of Jim's days off to fun things only like Science and History so he can help with the projects then the kids will feel he is involved in some way. With the rest of the week we will have 5day's of core subjects with Konos and Art mixed in. I am going to try to have 2 days of art projects and 3 days of Konos and this will be our fun time after the core stuff is done. I figure it kind of gives them something to look forward to and that works pretty well with them.
It is so funny how much we have both changed in our views and ways of doing things since the beginning lol I love seeing how different we both are. I think we both just have this way of doing things and it would drive us nuts to do anything different hehehe.
I think with me it is sooo important to have structure with my curric and lack of structure with our time and for you it is opposite; you have this gift of taking Konos and making it work for you as the main part of your curric with the other's to supplement.
Anyway, I am glad you got to blog again. :)
P.S. I am thinking Rod and Staff is my structured all set out for me version of Konos for the Language Arts part lol.
Yes, Rod and Staff looks awesome!! I knew that for just Cayleb it was to much sit down, which is why I got Konos, but I think that my others would do really well with it, and just using parts of it would be great as well. I am just sort of creating my own language arts curric. right now, with some phonics, grammar and diagraming sentences workbooks that I got. They have all been having a lot of fun with them. Rod and Staff is what I will get when I can save up for it.... I can't use stipend money for it, so I just can't afford it right now. Bills have to come first, you know ;) And food is pretty important around here too!!
Oh yeah, and did I mention that that was the curric that Jason used when he was really young.... before they used Konos?! Isn't that funny, that they great currics are still around that the next generation can use them too??!!
